SILLIKER IMPRESSIVE IN ASCS SPEEDWEEKTuesday - June - 2018
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
East Selkirk, Manitoba – June 12, 2018 – It’s been an impressive first third of the race season for Silco Racing’s Ben Silliker. The young, budding sprint car star has been pitted against some of sprint car racing’s greats and has been enjoying every minute – and learning a lot.
After a busy season already, ASCS Speedweek is now underway, and Silliker is off to a flying start.
In the week’s first night of racing at The West Texas Raceway, Ben showed his speed and talent in a sprint car with the seventh quickest time in hot laps; speed which he carried on to a fourth place finish in his heat, and a thirteenth place finish in the A-Main.
Night two of ASCS Speedweek saw the series move to Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas. Silliker picked up where he left off in West Texas running the sixth fastest time in hot laps. Ben and team owners Nathan and Danielle Moore battled a tight racecar all night, relegating Ben to an eighth place finish in his heat and a disappointing eighteenth place finish in the A-Main.
The team is battling hard to find the source of their handling issues, with every intention of repairing the issue and returning to form in time for the third stop of the Speedweek tour at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas on Tuesday, June 12.
The team plans to complete the remainder of Speedweek, and to gain some more on-track experience at such a high level of competition.

In preparation for ASCS Speedweek, Ben ran his Micro Sprint at RPM Speedway followed by his POWRi non-wing car in Arkla, Texas the following night.
In Friday’s RPM Micro Sprint race, Ben started seventh in his heat before putting on a show for the fans and driving to the front and taking the win. The win put him on the pole for the 18-car field in the feature. Silliker would hold for much of the race to bring home the win for Silco Racing.
The following night’s POWRi Elite Non-Wing series race was another great showing for Ben finishing sixth in the main.
After the conclusion of Speedweek round 6 at Salina Speedway, the team will have a week off of on-track competition as they prepare for their next race in the POWRi Elite Non-Wing car in Waco, Texas.
You can catch Silliker and Team Silco tonight at Devils Bowl in Texas for round three of ASCS Speedweek.
